2009 dodge charger r/t v8 fully loaded with 28 hwy mpg cost 33,500
A 2009 chevy tahoe LT 4x4 fully loaded and you know thats how they get them gets 19 hwy mpg starts at 45,000 dollars . Sounds like a no brainer on that aspect...Now as far as equipment what does a chief really need well lets see his bunker gear , water can , portable radio , maybe a set of irons well it all fits with extra room in the trunk ..lets be real who out there that has a truck has a mini booster reel in the back. Chiefs cars are for a chief to get to the scean and size up the call for the engines not to carry all the equipment as an engine. Oh ya it also fits his scba .....

You have to remember that we are the only part of the country that sends chiefs to AFA's, CO calls MVA's etc. It wouldn't shock me at all to see a booster reel in the back of a tahoe one day.

After seeing those pics from Wyandanch I can't believe it. What the hell were they thinking? A sports car for a chiefs car? Come on Wyandanch get your heads out of your ass. LI FDs are out of control. Tahoes and Suburbans loaded with leather and all the accessories are just as insane. Its like high school where everyone has to have the designer backpack to be cool. All these fire districts need to pull their own head out of their own ass. Wake up and start living in the real world.
Now I know plenty of people are going to disagree with me, and that's okay. I have my opinions just as you have yours.

HUH? Correct me if I'm wrong, Didn't your dept. just get rid of a 10yr old tower ladder because "no1 liked it"? I don't know the reason why they got rid of it. It wasn't my company. Just because I'm a member, doesn't mean that I share their opinions.

So this charger is a no brainer because of cost... how the hell did the department justify the purchase of a Denali that starts at 48,000 stripped? Granted it is nice but is it really for the fire service?
