Anybody know if the SCPD chopper is doing a medivac to Stony Brook do they notify the hospital on the Hospital North? If not anybody know how they notify the hospital of the fact that they are coming in with a patient?

When a medevac is coming in, the UH EMS office is notified and through them the rest of the ED. UH EMS also notifies State PD@Stony Brook so they can shut down the parking area when the helicopter is arriving.
When they go to other hospitals with helipads (Good Sam) they usually use Hospital North to give a present.

They will use either the private VHF freq they've used for years talking to the U or Hosp North. It's impossible to use Hosp North when calling Good Sam (or any other hospital south of the E-way for that matter) because they don't monitor Hosp North - only Hosp South. I's been that way since it was turned on two years ago. Explained during the in-service too.
