It's just fine. We had the analog spectra for years and this is the reincarnation of that model line. The spectra was good, too.
The key features we like are:
- Can use the heady-duty spectra telephone handset-style mic - does digital - large display - can be upgraded to trunking for future NCPD system - new control head has uses thinner cable harness
The next generation control head has a bigger display than the spectra-style heads and lets you choose the color of back lighting. Incidentally, the XTL line (1500, 2500, & 5000) use the same radio guts and a 1500 is designed to be upgraded to a 2500 or 5000 by using a Flashport upgrade and swapping the head.
