Does anyone know the E F F D high band freq???
I am talking about this as quoted from their website
"New First Responder Car in Service
September 28, 2006
We have placed in service our latest First Responder car. This vehicle is a 2006 Ford Explorer. This is a considerably heavier car than the previous vehicle. While the old car (Nissan Pathfinder) served us well, it was starting to show signs of wear. The Chiefs and Board of Directors have equipped this new vehicle with all of the latest safety package (lights, siren, etc) A High band radio is installed, as well as the existing low band. Yet to be installed is a GPS system. The new EMS First Responder car is, yet another advancement to help to better serve our community. "

FCC Search Shows: EAST FARMINGDALE FIRE COMPANY 930 CONKLIN ST EAST FARMINGDALE, NY 11735
Call Sign WPAY680 453.1625 458.1625 And these are for Mobile Radios, so looks like a new F/G freq.

The 2 freqs mentioned above are only re-transmitting 46.46 and 46.34. I just heard Centerport FD tone out on the 453.1625 freq. It sounds like its an open squelch channel

EFFD uses 46.46 and 45.32
They also need a high band radio to talk to neighboring districts like Farmingdale Village, Melville etc.

453/458.1625 are used as an RF link for their 46.46 radio which is on top of the water tower next to Adventure Land. There is nothing I could find in the FCC data base for any other UHF freqs. It is true that they would need a UHF radio to com with their neighbors on UHF.

Just about all of our rigs have at least a highband mobile. the chiefs, ambulances, and tac rescue rig have 1 highband portible. We have those as well as the low band mobiles in every rig and numerous low band portibles in each rig. We only use on LOWband right now. tones 46.46, truck to truck 45.32, fireground 46.30. the highbands are in place to be able to talk to all depts. around us that have highband on mutual aide calls ect. we have been working for years to go to highband but for some reason it hasnt gotten done. sooner or later i guess it will. but with buying the news rigs, we put the highbands in so when that time does come where we go to highband we already have everything in place.
also, the return tones do come from the wellwood ave house
hope this answers all the questions
