I know there were a handful of patch channels setup by a very gracious eastern EMS company in Suffolk.
i believe one, that seemed to be in my scanner/radio was 453.025 --- just wondering if anyone knew the status of these frequencies, as they seems to be quite quiet these days...

Not knowing for sure.. It sounds like the freqs you are referring to are the national Med Channels.
Suffolk County took their show to the 800mhz trunk system.

Suffolk County Ambulances
155.280 Countywide Dispatch (PL 156.7) 155.325 - Countywide Ambulance-to-Hospital Primary (PL 156.7) 155.175 - Secondary Ambulance Channel (PL 156.7) 154.415 - Medcomm Base (PL 156.7) 453.025 - Medcomm Base (DCS 131) - Simulcasts 154.415 453.125 - Medcomm Base (DCS 131) - Simulcasts 154.415 453.175 - Medcomm Base (DCS 131) - Simulcasts 155.175 453.6375 - Medcomm Base (DCS 131) - Simulcasts 154.415
cut/pasted from fordyce.org i've used these frequencies in the past, as the receiver is VERY high in the air, and can normally pickup things that just monitoring 154.415 CANT pickup in the local area. i.e. hearing brentwood portables clear in the brookhaven area.

No clue. Haven't listened out there in a while. Once I put a vhf radio in the vehicle I no longer listened to the UHF side. Give SCVAC a call.
