Can anyone explain the difference between personality paging ang group paging other than group paging is a single tone?
Also, I have been trying to establish group paging for our department and wanted to do trials using an HT-1250. Can I use the Quick Call II format with Plectron tones or do the settings on the pager need to be switched from plectron to Motorola?
Any information you can lend would be appreciated.

Any paging system can be set up to do individual pagers as long as you have the tones to do it. ie: if ur on your own system it's no problem. If you tone out on County you may run into a problem with coordinating your tones with FRES.
Just as you have company tones for the engines and truck co's you can set up personal tones as well. The new minitor series (4&5's) make it even easier. The hardest part is going to be programing all the tones into your board for each pager or purchasing an encoder designed for that operation. With the old minitor 2's you had to have one long tone and a two tone combo to do what you want, but not anymore.
It really is a matter of just setting up your pagers and space the tones a few megahertz apart and you can do anything. My dept has a tone for each of the 4 company's, Chiefs, Commish, Tech Rescue, Fire Police, and 1 tone just to activate a plectron @ EMS should we need them for a w/f.
Your options are only restricted by your ca$hflow !

Thanks. My radio committee is looking to establish administrative tones. The V's have 8 slots per channel plus an additional 4 for group paging. We would like to utilize all 12 slots in the near future for other things, such as members of organizations within the dept. Like Tech Team, Band, Drill Team, etc. Even possibly setting a tone for the Ladies Aux.
