Just for reference, don't judge an auto accident or any type of "reported" serious injury (other than an mva) based on aviation being put on stand by. When the county purchased new helicopters with prolonged warm up times, a protocol was put into place to place aviation on stand by for anything that "sound" serious. Quite a few departments put the helo on stand by right after being activated or right after a chief goes on a 2, he'll request the stand by.
I don't know the particulars of this incident, but just food for thought in case you may not have been aware.
