Brentwood with a signal 12 around 13:00 hrs on Hilltop Drive. The burning area started out at like 100 by 150 feet, but with the gusty winds, it spread to approximately 200 feet pretty fast. 3-5-11 was 24'd in addition to the 3 or so engines Brentwood had on scene. E. Islip made access off of American Blvd and knocked down the remaining parts of the fire quickly. I'm not sure as to when units took up.

Is Terrace's GI out of service? EI is the only other dept on that end of town with a GI.

Negative Islip Terrace 5 ton GI has been in service it went out of service 3 months ago for 2 weeks but since the end of march it deff has been in service. this is the second alarm where ITFD has been skipped over and EIFD had gone to brentwood. at least a extra 20 mins is added on at least with the response, but its the OIC's call so he makes the call for EIFD thats the choice

Jupiter, the River has a GI as well on the southwest end. Prob a misunderstanding maybe the OIC didn't get notification that IT was back up. Whatever, sounds like it was a mop up, don't stress everybody.

How did we come to that number? Their stations are only about 1.5 mile apart.

Lemme guess crazymbgod is from Islip terrace. There coulda been mutiple different reasons why. But the bottom line is what the Chief wants is what he is gonna get. Islip terrace is most deffffffffff not 20 min apart. Give or take like a few miles from East Islip HQ to theres

WOW. I actually sorta regret opening this thread. You guys shouldn't be arguing over this. I mean, it's not like it made that much of a difference (if any) at the scene, the fact that EI was called over IT. That just shows that it wasn't a big deal to begin with. It's really kinda sad ... and a tiny bit funny. Sorry if this offends anyone. I just felt I should say something.

It may be a little silly arguing this, but this is a perfect example of Volly Politics. Every Dept. should have a Mutual Aid Map. You need an engine, you get an engine from the closest station with an engine. No Playing favorites with ya Buddies from 2 -3 towns away. Nassau County is rampant with this nonsense. Freeport calls North Merrick for an Engine/Ladder before they call Merrick or Roosevelt. Uniondale calls North Bellmore for an Engine/Ladder before they go to East Meadow, or North Merrick. Roosevelt wont call Merrick Period, except for stand bys. Imagine FDNY, OR ANY CITY for that matter, skipping over a closer Engine or Truck , b/c their buddies Co. is on the other side of town . One day this Horse Shit Will KILL a civilian or One of OUR BROTHER Fire Fighters. Let that wear on your mind next time you decide where your Mutual Aid comes from.
