Fire was in a 2stry 25X50 wood frame garage w/ residental 2nd floor. Hydrant located on Cove Road - L-551 was the 1st due truck, E-558 1st due engine. Heavy fire on 1st floor (garage) including a car fire (which could be the fire origin?) - asst chief reported structural collapse as the units arrived, as per command handlines advised NOT to enter the structure.
558 used it deck gun for a few minutes to keep the fire back, also 2.5 inch handline, L-551 also stretched an attack line. Crews on the 2nd floor reporting fire in the attic/cockloft, combined crew of 551, and 558 asended L-551 to make inspection cut on the 1 side - which confirmed fire in the cockloft. Due to the narrow driveway the only 2 fire units in the driveway were E-558 and L-551.
During the initial attack the crew of TL-554 and E-557 reported to command of a blow length of 5inch - (good job by the IC on advising the members of the blow length as did the ECC of 558, which was supplying 2 handlines and L-551).
