As reported by WPIX-TV A Yonkers, N.Y. firefighter was killed today (Oct. 2) while searching for victims reported trapped in a three-alarm blaze, according to WPIX-TV. Patrick Joyce was one of three firefighters searching for the victims on the top floor of the three story house. All firefighters exited out the third story windows amid intense heat. It is still unclear whether they fell or jumped, the report said. Joyce, 39, was initially listed in serious condition at St. Joseph's Medical Center before he died from his injuries. He leaves behind a wife and children . Two other firefighters -- Lt. Joseph Murray, 54, and firefighter William Kanich, 38 -- were transported to Jacobi Medical Center and are listed in critical condition, according to WPIX-TV. It was later learned that there was no one trapped in the burning home. Attachments:
