It was a very good drill. 8 people in each evolution, 4 on each side of the can. You rotate up to the front after each flash so everyone gets a chance to be in the front spot. You must wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt. You use your own gear but they supply you with the helmets. There were 5 instructors with us cause they were training someone on it but normally there are 4 instructors. Two safety instructors one in the front and one in the rear and the instructor running the flashover is in the front who is talking to you throughout the event. One instructor stayed outside(he was running the show, doing the pre event safty talked and briefing after). They ask you to stay very quiet so you can hear the instructor talking and only speak if you have an emergency. Of course the best position is in the front, most heat and best visibility to see the flash. In the back though you can watch it through the tic. Well any other questions just ask. It did produce a ton of smoke so we had to use our deck gun with a fog pattern. I can see why people were complaning and it will be interesting what happens when they build those houses across the street. The unit they are buying to burn off the smoke toxins was not in place last night so I don't know if they have it yet. Very good learning experience though.
