Stupid question but, does anyone know why FRES just doesnt stack dept tones with the Brookhaven Hospital pre-plan?
Hagerman had their usual A/A there last night and the radio was a mess with depts stepping on each other.
I know they cant activate NPFD, but Hagerman, Medford, Patchogue and maybe Bellport they could. Especially when after county activates them, most of them re-activate which makes it even worse on the radio.
FRES stacks with the MacArthur Airport plans (Bohemia, Holbrook & Lakeland) and it works pretty good.

They use to be able to stack tones. Now with all the return tones and siren tones it doesn't work.Years ago you used to hear it for brush fires once in awhile. I have always believed there should be regional county tone for big stuff. I heard Smithtown do that with the departments they dispatch for the 95 Wildfires.

If you notice, the LIMA Crash tones put Bohemia at the end, because their tones reactivate. Holbrooks and Lakelands dont.

There are too many departments to stack BMH by the time tones were done the first couple departments pagers would reset and no message. Plus not all the departments going to the preplan go out on the fire radio.

With the new cad(pile of stool) you can't stack tones. We could still do it the old way, which is now the back up. Every once in a while, usually during brush fires some of us stack tones for the mutual aid calls. I've done it a few times, most people don't even know whats going on.
It's a good idea to stack tones for obvious reasons, the less radio talk the better. Just my opinion. I'm not speaking for anyone other than me...

Plus not all the departments going to the preplan go out on the fire radio. It could be done. You'd have to take out the dtmf sequence out, and just activate the depts general tone. I think the only dept in the pre-plan that doesn't go out over the fire radio is north patch? You have Hagerman, Patch, Medford, maybe Bellport. They all get activated by fres initally.
