The Jericho Fire was 333 Broadway, back in May of '99. The new HQ is North of that. Isn't that the location of where there new HQ's is being built?

Oyster Bay 2003 October - Masonic (sp?) lodge Heavy fire in a 100 x 25 lodge hall, fire started in the basement, no alarms activated a person driving by at 1am called in smoke in the area, fire operations lasted until 9pm the next night.
Oyster Bay 2005 - January Nobmans hardware - Heavy fire in the basement spread throughout the building, heavy fire conditions on 2nd floor as well. Good stop though. It was a corner building none of the exposures had and significant damage. Sub-zero temps, the ground ladders and lines were frozen to the ground, as well as the "snaps" on my coat that froze instantly once I came outside. LOL...

Going back a couple of posts, East Rockaway was the Rhame Avenue School on an early Sunday morning in the winter mid 80's. L.H Martin in the Merrick Mall, last I checked the mall was north of Sunrise Highway. Row of stores on Merrick Avenue south of Sunrise, where are they? The fire in the row of stores on Merrick Road was in the then A & P shopping center, the now Waldbaums shopping center.

Freeport was burning back in the late 70's and early 80's. The Chief in '79 had over a million dollar loss. The Tropicana Restaurant on the northeast corner of Guy Lombardo and West Sunrise burned twice in the same summer, the Masonic Lodge went early July 5th morning on the other side of Guy Lombardo Ave and Sunrise. One of Freeports more famous fires the Freeport Mall fire Janaury of '79, their first and only firefighter fatality. They had a four story office building with a bar on the first floor go around 1980 on Guy Lombardo just south of Sunrise. Another two story doctors office on Guy Lombardo south of Pine Street was a total loss around the same time.

not one of the biggst, but still a notable one:
Great neck, may 2001, the temple beth-el fire. heavy fire caused substantial damage to the religious school. M/A was provided from many departments, including port washington, i think new hyde park, manhasset-lakeville, great neck vigilant, and more which i can not remember. they just finished repairs this year. i dont remember exactly how long it took, around 8 hours. also, the vigilants had a house fire in the village of saddle rock at the same time.

If I am correct, I believe Manhasset-Lakeville was first due to this fire, Companies 3 & 4, due to the fact that the Alerts and Vigilants were both operating at the other Signal 10 in Saddle Rock. M/A brought Port Washington to the scene. I remember listening that day and hearing the M-LFD blow out a general alarm for all of it's companies, that was a weird sound.

Hicksville early 60`s the old gertz bldg that is now macy`s in the broadway mall 3 floors burning Gertz was in January 1963, but as long as we're in the way back machine, Hicksville also had the 550 Old Country Rd. office building (next to the Spare Rib which was Howard Johnsons way back) in 1968 and had extensive damage to that building. Also the Gertz fire was probably small compared to the fire at the mall (then the Mid Island Plaza) itself in 1972. There were a bunch of stores on the north side facing what today is the IKEA parking garage that burned up. There was another large fire there about a year earlier if I remember that far back, by where discount store is near the movie entrance.
