I'm thinking of putting up a live feed of all the active Nassau Fire/EMS dispatch/fireground frequencies on a webpage of mine. My question to anyone is what is involved in doing so? How do you do it? How much would it cost? And what do you think about it?

Not that hard actually, I had one up for a few years when I lived in Port. Connect the scanner to the Line in on your soundcard Get your hands on Windows Media Encoder (free download) Have your website point to the encoder feed. I'm thinking of putting up a live feed of all the active Nassau Fire/EMS dispatch/fireground frequencies on a webpage of mine. My question to anyone is what is involved in doing so? How do you do it? How much would it cost? And what do you think about it?

What method did you go with for your scanner feed??
For my page, I setup and ICECAST feed, since ICECAST works like a VOX headset. It only activates when there is traffic, and when there is a user listening.
When I tried running Shoutcast, the feed was always up, and it started out with about a 30 second lag time, which grew and grew.
After a hacker attack, and Linux troubles, I have put my scanner feed on the back burner. I took a week off from work to fix it, but wound up doing things around the house instead..
I'd like to take a look at it if you don't mind PM'ing me the addy.
Thanks!

The LIVE Scanner Feed for Nassau Fire & EMS has been temporarily placed O/O/S due to a recent hacker attack which destroyed my operating system. I will notify all when it's put back I/S.

is it possible to make different feeds??
Maybe one just with 46.10, 46.12, 46.20, 46.32? You end up not hearing many things because one of the highband freqs starts to static and freezes the feed.

NEWS FLASH: The Live Scanner Feed for Nassau County Fire & EMS is back up & running. The link has slightly changed due to some technical difficulties but it works great. Thanks to all for your consideration and patience! PM me for the new link...........
FYI: The Live Scanner Feed covers ALL active FD Dispatch/Operations/Fireground frequencies from throughout Nassau County. It also includes all FD talkgroups on the Nassau County 800mHz Trunked EDACS system (ex: Fire Marshals/Hazmat, Battalions & certain FD's)

Sorry for any inconvenience on my Live Feed but it has stayed stuck on 46.10 for the past few hours due to a mic or base station keyed up.

How is it your stuck on 46.10?? Maybe you need to tweek your squelch a bit, or move your antenna.
Computers and other electronics can cause some noise that would interfear with the scanner, making it seem like there is a mic keyed up. How close is your radio or antenna from your computer? I saw this post from you last night, and my scanner was having no problems..... What part of Nassau are you from? It could have been something local to you too..
