I would have to say the best dispatcher was Danny operator # 7 from Westbury, he's not there no more. When Westbury FD use to Dispatch and operate on 46.12. You knew when they had a Job. Instead of saying "960 Westbury FD signing on the air with a """""" Danny would say "Station KDP449 the Westbury FD signing on the air with a report of a structure fire...

Ah. The good old days.. where every department in the 5th 8th and 9th couldn't work a job because Westbury was busy banging out a Signal 15 with the following 10 messages and a reminder not to forget to check the message phone.. ;D When Westbury FD use to Dispatch and operate on 46.12.

He has not been in Westbury for a few years. He moved to Arizona and works for a FD. Now they use the time first or "Station WPAX289"

That tip off was actually started around 1987 by Jerry who was # 3 at Westbury now 41 at firecom and eventually all the 960 dispatchers used that

Maybe YOU don't know him, but to say WE is not fair. Anyone in the 9th Batt who has ever been to the Columbus Day Parade or a 9th Batt Happy Hour definitely knows Dispatcher 7.

Long Beach has had some good dispatchers come thru the doors here...how about the old Mike Noonan aka LB#28?? "Any chiefs responding?"...."Negative Lt. NO White Tonight"
The old LB#30??? He should come back here!!
The old LB#18?? "Status of Oceanside?" ..."Still north of Island Park chief"
The old LB#3?? "ya got a hydrant location"...."6 inches off the curb"
The current LB#3.....well i dunno what to say about him

This question is hard to answer. The dispatchers that i like are East Meadow #20 and firecom #50. I also like Plainview #3, firecom #32. Firecom#3 and #7 are cool also. One reason why i like East Meadow #20 is he can hold his own on the radio. I cannot say i cant stand anyone on the radio. And i really have not heard any funny things over the radio.
;D ;D ;D

East Meadow #8 has to catch his breath after alerting a call, he does it in one breath! #57 famous last words are 'stand by unless urgent' - too much pressure I guess. And what can I say about F/C #30 - he's my hero ;D ;D
